Petra Holländer is a Vienna-based artist who studied Communication Design as well as Graphics and Printmaking at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
Her artistic practice spans painting, drawing, illustration, and mural work. In recent years, she has increasingly turned her focus toward painting, using it as a space for introspection and personal exploration. At the core of her work lie psychological states, personal development, self-reflection, and her understanding of her role as a woman within contemporary society. Holländer’s paintings explore behavioral patterns, personal boundaries, and the potential for change, often in dialogue with feminist perspectives.
Her works translate inner processes into visual form, negotiating the balance between personal needs and social expectations, and questioning how these external frameworks shape individual experience. By merging personal reflection with broader social contexts, her imagery reveals the subtle tensions between inner desire and collective norms, inviting viewers to engage with the complexity of selfhood in a structured world.
