Burst
Burst explores the process of breaking free from ingrained patterns and self-limiting beliefs. At its center sits a large, stone-like figure, knees drawn in, arms wrapped around itself, a visual metaphor for stagnation, heaviness and the resistance to change. The stone represents what has become rigid within, the learned behaviors and narratives that keep us confined.
From the figure’s head, a small luminous being emerges, scattering fragments of stone into the air. This radiant figure, full of lightness and curiosity, embodies the first fragile yet powerful moment of liberation, the emergence of a new way of being. Set within a vibrant, fantastical landscape, the painting contrasts inner constraint with the vastness of potential life beyond it. Despite the weight of its theme, Burst carries an undertone of humor and optimism, celebrating the joy and wonder that accompany self-discovery and the courage to change.
