Burst

Burst explores the moment of breaking free from patterns and beliefs that have long held us back. At the center of the painting sits a large, stone-like figure, knees drawn in, arms wrapped around itself, heavy, still, caught in its own weight. The stone stands for what has hardened inside us over time: the habits and stories we carry that keep us from moving forward.

From the figure's head, a small glowing being emerges, sending fragments of stone into the air. Full of lightness and curiosity, it captures that first tender but powerful moment of letting go, of beginning to become someone new. The surrounding landscape is vivid and fantastical, opening up a world of possibility beyond the figure's stillness.

Despite its theme, Burst is not a heavy painting. There is warmth in it, and humor, a quiet celebration of the joy that comes with the courage to change.
