This mural portrays a monumental woman confidently occupying space. Her size is intentional, as she stands for self-assurance and the right to be seen and to take up space without apology. The flower she holds is not just an ornament, it is a symbol of growth and the beauty that emerges when we allow ourselves to take root and thrive.
Take Up Space is both a message and an invitation. It encourages women to stop shrinking themselves and to claim the space they deserve. The project was organized by Calle Libre and executed as part of the Grätzl.Kunst.Tage in the 17th district of Vienna. At the same wall, three additional FLINTA* artists - Lio Ebenstein, Zeitgleich and Pati Avish - also painted their murals alongside mine, collectively reclaiming public space through street art, a field often dominated by male narratives.
